Occupational therapy is prescribed by doctors, and aims to support people who encounter difficulties in their day-to-day activities, be they professional, domestic, academic or social. At CARE, we believe that patient involvement is essential to successful treatment. The occupational therapist works closely with you - or with your child and family - to define concrete goals, adapted to your pace and priorities.
We guide you in the acquisition of new strategies, the implementation of concrete adaptations, and offer you tools to reinforce your autonomy on a daily basis.
How does occupational therapy work?
Occupational therapy treatment is prescribed by a doctor. Generally, an initial series of sessions is proposed, the number of which is adapted to your situation.
During the first session, an in-depth assessment is carried out. It includes a functional assessment, an analysis of the difficulties encountered in your daily environment and a discussion to understand your expectations.
Based on this assessment, the occupational therapist draws up a personalized intervention plan, which may include:
- Individual sessions
- Practical advice and exercises to do at home
- Adaptations to the environment (home, workplace or school)
- Collaboration with other professionals (doctors, teachers, social workers)
Your follow-up is regular and adjusted according to your progress and needs. The aim is always to optimize your independence and quality of life.
If you have any questions or would like to make an appointment, our teams at CARE are at your service. Please do not hesitate to contact us, we will be happy to assist you in your rehabilitation.
