Why consult a physiotherapist?
Physiotherapy is prescribed by a doctor when a need for functional rehabilitation is identified: musculoskeletal pain, recovery from surgery, mobility problems, falls, sports injuries or chronic pathologies. It aims to relieve pain, improve mobility, strengthen physical capacities and prevent recurrence.
At our CARE Charmilles outpatient rehabilitation center, we welcome you on medical prescription for individualized support. Our teams use proven methods and state-of-the-art equipment to help you progress at your own pace, in complete safety.
When is physiotherapy appropriate?
Physiotherapy can be recommended in many situations. It is equally suited to young and old, athletes, convalescents and patients with chronic pathologies. Here are some common indications:
- Acute or chronic pain: lumbago, neck pain, tendonitis, neuralgia, joint or muscle pain linked to repetitive movements or prolonged posture.
- Trauma and injury: sprains, fractures, dislocations, muscle or ligament damage requiring rehabilitation to regain strength and mobility.
- Orthopedic surgery: following knee, shoulder, hip or spinal surgery, physiotherapy helps restore motor function and prevent complications.
- Mild neurological disorders: loss of balance, coordination problems or reduced muscle tone due to age or certain stabilized pathologies.
- Falls prevention: for the elderly or frail, specific training can help improve balance and stability.
- Exercise reconditioning: after a period of inactivity or illness, physiotherapy enables you to gradually resume safe physical activity.
Each treatment is tailored to your situation, age and recovery goals.
At CARE, we favour a progressive, individualized approach that respects your abilities.

You take charge of your rehabilitation
At CARE, we believe that rehabilitation is most effective when it's built with you in mind. The physiotherapist guides and accompanies you, but it's your involvement that makes the difference.
Each session is tailored to your needs and progress, and you'll also receive advice and exercises to continue between sessions. This approach enables you to better understand your body, gain autonomy and consolidate the benefits of your treatment over the long term.
How does your physiotherapy treatment work?
Physiotherapy is prescribed by a doctor, generally for a series of 9 sessions. This voucher must be used within 5 weeks of issue to be covered by basic insurance (LAMal, accident, invalidity and military).
The first session begins with a comprehensive 1-hour assessment by your physiotherapist. This moment of exchange and evaluation enables you to identify your functional limitations, understand your situation, and set concrete objectives together. Based on this assessment, an individualized treatment plan is drawn up.
Each treatment is tailored to your situation, your pace and your abilities. At CARE, we make it a point of honor to offer you personalized, progressive care that respects your comfort.
If you have any questions or would like to make an appointment, our teams at CARE are at your service. Don't hesitate to contact us, we'll be happy to support you in your rehabilitation journey.
